Best Time to Visit
Hamilton’s tropical climate means travelers can enjoy visiting this stunning island year-round, but the best time to go largely depends on your island plans. The dry season, between May and September, offers sunny skies, warm temperatures, and minimal rain, making it a perfect time for outdoor activities, from snorkeling and sailing to exploring the Great Barrier Reef and kicking back at the beach. End of August to early September also marks the start of the much-anticipated Hamilton Island Race Week. The summer season, from November to April, is hotter and more humid, with a higher chance of rain and tropical storms. But the rain brings with it a more lush landscape and fewer crowds, allowing visitors to really soak in the calming and peaceful atmosphere of this car-free haven.
